Emotions Anonymous was founded in St. Paul, Minnesota in 1971. As of 1996 there are over 1,200 EA chapters in 39 countries. Emotions Anonymous (EA) is a 12 Step Program similar to Alcoholics Anonymous. The 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous are contained in the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous in
Chapter 5.
Emotions Anonymous is a Spiritual program of recovery. The only requirement for membership is a desire to be well emotionally.
